Colour the Coast

Handwoven textile artwork designed and created by artist, Mary Anne Donovan, framed in ash. This artwork captures a colourful sky over the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean along Canada’s east coast. The setting sky is a natural reflection of the colourful towns and artistic flavours of the places the artist has called home ~ St. John’s, Newfoundland and Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Materials: cotton warp with weft of locally hand dyed linen, silk, mohair, boucle, alpaca, slubby mix of merino and Blue Faced Leicester, cashmere, wool roving and more. Framed in a locally crafted ash frame.
