Handwoven tapestry designed and created by Lunenburg based textile artist, Mary Anne Donovan. Float was the title piece in a series of handwoven stories that paints the shifting beauty of Atlantic Canada in wool and natural fibres, layering waves over land by hand as weft over warp layers a tapestry design. Textile art is a balance of strength and fragility. FLOAT celebrates the resilience of east coast communities and the beauty found in a landscape forever shaped by wind, water and time.
