Meet Me Where The Sky Touches The Sea

This original large scale tapestry was designed and woven by Lunenburg based textile artist, Mary Anne Donovan. Each locally sourced natural fibre has been thoughtfully curated and combined with other fibres to create a soft sunset palette over a forceful tide along the shores of Atlantic Canada.

Drawing inspiration from the craggy coastline at Middle Cove Beach in Newfoundland and Gaff Point in Nova Scotia, Mary Anne weaves her love of landscape textile art into her personal story of living and exploring the east coast with her family. Using a variety of textures, the swooping sky waves and the dramatic crashing sea waves project from the tapestry to draw the viewer into the scene on this long walk with the artist. 

Materials: cotton warp with weft of locally produced and hand dyed silk, linen, mohair, merino, alpaca, cashmere, yak, blue faced Leicester slubby mix, wool roving and more, mounted on a locally crafted ash holder.

Dimensions: 76 inches wide (including the tapestry holder width) and 58 inches long

~ A weaving comb is provided with the purchase of the tapestry to smooth out the fringe upon opening as well as wall screws and anchors for easy installation.
